Editing images in the WMS

We believe image management is one of the key aspects of the content management system. However, what if the image isn't just right - it is too large, edges might need cropped or the whole image needs flipped? In most cases, image editors can help you out. However, this requires the image to be downloaded, edited and then uploaded to the content management system.

WMS offers a different approach - keep your images in your library and edit them in the content management system.

The WMS Image Editor is a brand new feature of the WMS and lets you edit any image in the WMS. The options include
  • Interactive cropping
  • Rotate the image (90,180,270)
  • Image re-sizing
  • Flipping
  • Opacity changes
The changes that you make can be previewed and a brand new image can be created.

Introducing the new WMS Libraries

The brand new WMS4 library means a small revolution in your file management. We threw everything away and started from the scratch. The libraries now offer a wide range of functionality that will save you time and make your life easier when dealing with files.

Start with the basics
The library may look similar, but is packed with powerful stuff
  • Full nested folder tree
  • Multiple file upload
  • Download the files
  • Cut, Copy and Paste
Don't worry about zip files

WMS libraries now have full zip support. You can download a selection of your files as a zip file or you may want to upload your own zip file and let it auto-extract in the WMS - of course with the entire folder structure.

See your images

Images make up most of the library files. Single images can now be previewed or users may choose to list the entire folder and see the images in the grid.

Publish files directly
Sometimes, files such as documents need to sit on the server. WMS4 lets you to publish files directly from the libraries. Simply just select the files that you want to publish!

Our first wildlife charity site!

At Ezone we pride ourselves in our values; we firmly believe that the figure at the bottom of the financial accounts is just one aspect of our success. We try to add value, in this broader sense, to the company by taking every opportunity to have a positive impact on our environment and those around us.

One of the ways that we do this is by using our expertise and resources to help selected charities to gain the most from their web activities.

In December 2009 we launched a new site for the Edinburgh & Lothian's members centre (www.swtlothians.org.uk) of the Scottish Wildlife Trust. Formed in 1964, the Scottish Wildlife Trust (SWT) is a membership-based registered charity with the objective to "advance the conservation of Scotland's biodiversity for the benefit of present and future generations." The Lothians Members Centre, helps support the wildlife of Edinburgh, the countryside and gardens of East, West and Mid Lothian and the many reserves therein.

Other charities that we have helped include the Edinburgh Cyrenians and the Scottish arm of Music in Hospitals.

Check out this page for more details.

Date, Time and Colour Picker Controls

Along with the user interface changes brought by WMS4, we have introduced several new controls for editing. We hope they will make your WMS experience easier and save you some time.

The first set of controls combine date and time selects. A user-friendly calendar makes sure that date selection is straight-forward. Time picker on ther hand offers you a list of possible times in a pre-set interval. Colour picker lets you visually select colour from pre-set options or a wide range of colour pallettes.

The new controls are available to all our clients. If you would like to know know more about them or would like implement them in some of your existing templates, drop us an email or call our office.

New Easy-Breaks.com Launched

Over the last 8 months we have been working hard on an exciting new development for easy-breaks.com. easy-breaks.com is one of the UK's leading holiday companies, offering great value short breaks throughout the country. We have been working with them for several years now, however this project represented a significant step forward, both with the sophistication of their web presence and with our involvement.

The new easy-breaks.com site has a much improved search and listing functionality, including searches by type, location, price as well as late deals, map searches , rss, and many more features to help find and book the best, most suitable holiday break.

As well as this massive update to the Internet site we also developed a powerful new web based, back office booking management and call centre management application. Built on the flexible framework of our WMS, this application gives easy-breaks staff and management reliable and straight forward access to all the tools they need; from taking phone bookings to detailed reporting.

The new system launched in Dec 09. We would like to thank everyone involved for making it a success and we look forward to our continued partnership with easy-breaks.com!

New Bulk Editing with WMS4

Decreasing time that is required to edit your website is one of our key concerns. The WMS4 therefore comes with a new exciting feature that will save your time during time-edits.

The Bulk Edit lets you edit a single element across all the pages or components from a particular template. In practise it means if you need to change a component on 50 pages, you can do it in a single click.

You will find the Bulk Content option under Manage menu (Professional version only).
